April Guild Rugs, Part Three

The last of the finished rugs displayed at this month's guild meeting was one Neta Hylton started a few years back.  I'm not sure who the designer is, but I will add the credit when I track it down.  I'm sure Neta is very proud of this stunning piece of work.

April Guild Rugs, Part Two

Besides doing a mosaic demonstration (photos to come), Jeanine Speckman brought three mats she finished.  Mr. Iggy is an adaptation of a pattern from Rug Hooking Magazine.  Jeanine has made three or four seasonal adaptations of this pattern and they have all been very cute.

This is another free pattern from Rug Hooking Magazine.  Janine enhanced it by adding the lovely braided border.  She indicated that butting the braid required lots of hand stitching, but the results were spectacular.  I love the color combo.

Finally a little bear mat with a braided border.

April Guild Rugs, Part One

Thought I'd share photos of the completed rugs that were brought to guild today starting with this one.

(Click photo to see whole rug).

Ardis Deane hooked this lovely adaptation of a postcard from Santa Cruz.  I believe the location is Twin Lakes Beach.

She is so prolific in her hooking.  I swear she brings in another completed rug every month (and she gives them away!)

Beautiful work.

New cast - really missing hooking :(

Do you think this will work?

I'm going to guild meeting tomorrow and oh so look forward to seeing all my friends and what they have been doing.

Trying to take my mind off this thing!

It's my hooking hand! Do think there is any way to attach a hook? This coming Wednesday I get the two pins removed and a new hopefully more tolerable cast (or splint). Almost 2 weeks down and 4 weeks to go until I can hook again unless I figure some way to duct tape a hook to this thing..

Immediately after surgery I hit the road with my daughter and granddaughter and headed to Las Vegas for 4 days to visit mt son and his wife and daughter. I spent two days at home and then left for a spur-of-the moment trip to Oregon with another daughter's boyfriend to visit her at college. I figured getting out would help me keep busy so time would pass quicker.  I think it has gone faster, but dealing with this cast has been a royal pain.
