We got four two-week old chicks a while back (two Rhode Island Red and two Red Sex Link). My children thought we ought to integrate the coop and get a couple of black chickens (we are a bi-racial family ourselves!), so we added two French Black Copper Marans. While we were picking up the Marans, I was looking at some of her other chicks--in particular the Barnevelders. I am officially a lawbreaker--the limit for our city is six hens. I'm stopping now...really!
I'm sorry, I've been so distracted watching "The Girls". Who knew chickens were so fascinating?
